INTERVENTION AND THERAPY

Our intervention and collaborative therapy programmes prioritise educational therapy and early intervention, recognising the critical importance of addressing learning challenges and developmental delays at the earliest opportunity. Through our educational therapy programmes, we provide individualised interventions tailored to the unique needs of each child and adolescent, whether they are navigating academic difficulties, developmental delays, or learning disabilities.

Our team of licenced and qualified educational therapists develops comprehensive intervention plans that integrate evidence-based practices and innovative therapeutic approaches. By intervening early and providing targeted, personalised support, we aim to empower individuals to overcome obstacles, develop essential skills, and achieve their full potential, academically, socially, and personally.

Early
Intervention
Programme

Preschoolers who are taking longer to meet standard developmental milestones before progressing to primary education may benefit significantly from Early Intervention Programmes (EIPs) designed to improve their overall abilities and skills. The neuronal connectivity network of a child’s brain grows at its fastest rate from birth to the age of six, laying the foundation for all future cognitive processes and skills. It is therefore critical that any developmental delays are identified and addressed during this pivotal window of development.

Beyond developing the brain’s executive functions, encompassing working memory, self-regulation, and cognitive flexibility, our holistic EIPs foster a wide range of essential skills, including attention, curiosity, imagination, speech and language, problem-solving, communication, social interaction, critical thinking, creativity, and confidence.

Our highly personalised and intensive EIP activities are designed with learning targets that are unique and specific to each child, ensuring that every child is supported in reaching their developmental milestones and building a strong foundation for lifelong learning and growth.

Educational
Therapy

Under the purview of the World Health Organisation (WHO), Educational Therapy has been officially recognised and classified under procedure code 93.82 since 1986 in the International Classification of Diseases, Clinical Modifications-Ninth Revision, Volume 3 (ICD-9-CM, V-3) (WHO, 1986). It is a non-pharmacological and the most holistic approach to addressing learning difficulties and disorders to date. In many countries, practitioners are required to obtain a practising licence as an educational therapist before they are permitted to provide therapy or treatment.

Educational therapy is the gold standard in holistic intervention.Educational therapists are equipped with specialised knowledge and skills in addressing and guiding children with special educational needs who may present with learning difficulties in language and communication, attention, numeracy, reading and literacy, emotional regulation, social interaction, behaviour, memory, problem-solving, critical thinking, reasoning, planning, organisation, and imagination. Some children may also present with global developmental delays affecting physical, neurological, and psychological development.

Every child, however, has unique learning abilities and styles. Our educational therapists conduct comprehensive psychoeducational diagnostic assessments, evaluation, and profiling to gain a thorough understanding of each child’s learning difficulties and disorders before developing a highly personalised and holistic therapy programme. This programme prioritises and systematically develops the necessary skills to help each child overcome their difficulties and challenges, building lasting habits that support lifelong learning and growth.

Reading &
Literacy
Therapy

Reading and literacy therapy is a specialised form of therapeutic support designed for children who experience difficulties with reading, writing, spelling, and language comprehension due to various learning difficulties, disabilities, or disorders. It identifies and addresses challenges such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, hyperlexia, cacographia, dysnomia, dysorthographia, and other literacy-related conditions that affect how children process language, from recognising individual letters and sounds to understanding complex sentences and a range of text types.

Through careful assessment and evidence-based intervention strategies, our reading therapists work with children who may not progress adequately through traditional teaching methods alone, helping them develop the fundamental literacy skills essential for academic success and everyday functioning. Reading and literacy therapy goes beyond classroom instruction by targeting the specific cognitive and developmental differences that make reading and writing challenging for your child. Through highly individualised support, our therapists help each child unlock their full potential, build confidence, and develop a positive and enduring relationship with learning.

Speech &
Language
Therapy

Speech and language therapy supports children and adults who experience difficulties with communication, speech, language, or swallowing. Our speech and language therapists assess and address a wide range of communication challenges, including difficulties in producing sounds clearly, such as articulation difficulties or stuttering, understanding spoken language, expressing thoughts and ideas through words and sentences, using language appropriately in social situations, and managing difficulties with eating and swallowing safely.

Our therapists work closely with parents, teachers, and other professionals to develop individualised support plans tailored to your child’s specific needs. Through evidence-based approaches delivered in one-on-one sessions, small groups, or via strategies that parents can implement at home and in school, our speech and language therapists are committed to helping your child develop their communication skills to the fullest extent possible, whether that means improving spoken language, exploring alternative means of communication, or addressing the underlying challenges that affect how they understand and use language in daily life.

Occupational
Therapy

Cognitive skills are closely interrelated with physical, motor, and sensory development. Our occupational therapists focus on improving physical and functional abilities, including gross and fine motor coordination, sensory processing, handwriting skills, balance and postural responses, visual-motor integration, and the skills required for daily activities and self-care.

Occupational therapy plays a vital role in fostering each child’s independence by equipping them with the skills needed to overcome functional difficulties and complete tasks with greater confidence and autonomy. As children develop these essential abilities, they gain a stronger sense of self-confidence and self-esteem, empowering them to engage more fully in learning, social interaction, and everyday life.

Creative &
Arts
Therapy

Creative and arts therapies are art-based, non-verbal therapeutic approaches that utilise symbols, poetry, sand, music, and dance to help individuals channel their thoughts and emotions through artistic expression. These therapies are highly beneficial for those who experience difficulties in expressing their feelings verbally. They have also been shown to reduce emotional disturbances, anxiety, and depressed moods, while improving self-esteem and confidence, reconciling inner conflicts, supporting emotional regulation, promoting self-identity, self-awareness and reality orientation, and enhancing social and communication skills.

Musical ability has been shown to increase the size of the corpus callosum as well as the frontal, temporal, and motor areas of the brain. Music therapy enhances mentalisation and access to emotional attunement by synchronising frontal and posterior brain activity. As a result, it has demonstrated a significant capacity to modulate mood and emotion in individuals, making it a powerful therapeutic tool for children and adolescents with emotional and developmental challenges.
